Urban Decay Primer Potion Review

This is a decent eye shadow primer with amazing hold for any eye shadow, be it Mac or NYX! I have kept buying it since it came out, and have lost count of the amount of tubes I used up.

Applying the product on your lids is smooth, although I find that I still need to put some concealer (Estee Lauder Double Wear Concealer, or Everyday Minerals concealers that come in a powder format), or skin colour eye shadow (Mac Brule, Vanilla) to even out the colour on my eye lids.

The only compliant I have is the packaging, there's more than likely loads more product left, but you can't get at with the wand, and cutting it open is too much hassle for most people.... I know they changed the wand now making it slightly longer and curving to a side, but I don't find that it changed much in getting at the very last bit of product. I'd be much happier if they would replace the packaging with a proper squeeze out tube..

It is very handy that they include this product with almost every eye shadow palette or kits that they have, and most of the times they are on specials.

ModelCo Fiber Lash Brush On Mascara Review

I spotted this mascara kit while wandering around Arnotts (a department store in Dublin), and was instantly intrigued when the SA was showing me how to use it. The kit comes with two tubes, one longer containing the mascara and the other the fibers.

When I first tried this kit on myself, I thought this has to be the best invention out there ever in the beauty world! Only after researching the concept of applying fibers on top of your mascara, did I realise that ModelCo mustn't be the first and only company who have come out with this idea.

Application was super easy and fast. I found this was due to the mascara being pretty decent on its own, very lengthening with no clumping whatsoever (even after 6mths of using it, there is still no clumping). So, I first curled my lashes; I then applied a lash primer (I've used both Clinique's, and Dior's which I love!!!); then the mascara on top of that; then I pressed the fibers straight on my fresh mascara while it is wet; after that I went on to applying mascara on top of that, for an amazing result!!!!

My lashes are next to non existent, even though I do try to take care of them with serums etc, they are still teeny. This is the only mascara that gives them the length I never had, the curl (which lasts the whole day btw), and the volume!!

Do they look like falsies? Yes! And especially if you build up the fibers twice, ie mascara, fibers, mascara, fibers, mascara.

The price is the only con I have found, I paid 35eur for mine, and this is apparently going to go up to 39eur or so. However, all things considered I am still really happy with this kit, and will buy in a heartbeat, because it is so amazing and because in the case that the mascara is dried up, you can still use the fibers with any other mascara and still have the same effect.

I have since tried Divaderme, and have been very unimpressed, with the main reasons being that the fibers are black instead of transparent like the ModelCo, there is a great fall out onto my cheeks and impossible to remove, and it defeats its main purpose since it doesn't do much at all for volumising, never mind the curling!

Lee Stafford Climate Control Protection Spray Review

image

This spray does exactly what it promises on the can to perfection. This isn't a hairspray and does not make your hair hard, doesn't leave any nasty residue. What it is - is a perfect umbrealla for my GHD curls/waves, and only this product makes them stay the same against rain/drizzle/humidity till I wash my hair.

You can get it in Boots and it's pretty affordable, especially if you get it on a 3for2 offer.

Lumiere Cosmetics Mineral Foundation Review

Lumiere really did a great job when it comes to choosing foundation colours. Their little guide pictures are so useful and such a great idea to have them all together like that, and their different finishes are also shown. Swatches in those guides are pretty spot on in real life, so for the very first time I was actually able to pick colours that matched me really well.

This foundation comes in four different finishes: Veena Velvet, Flawless Face, Luminesse, and Cashmere. Out of the four I tried the Veena Velvet and Flawless face. I loved Veena Velvet for how perfect of a finish it gives, and blendability. Because it is quite light it applies like a dream, but very easy to layer for more coverage if needed, and won't look cakey at any point in time. The Flawless Face finish was a different story altogether and I did not like it. It applies very heavy, so it's harder to blend in, and will look cakey very easy, so you have to be careful.

The colours are quite broad since there are four different undertones to chose from: Beige, Cool, Neutral, Warm, and Golden; and from those, colours branch out under each undertone. I chose to try the Neutral, which was really fine, but I felt I needed something a bit warmer so I tried Warm in Light Medium Warm which is perfect now that I'm not tanned. I got Medium Warm and hoping that it'll be a good match when I get my tan in August :).

The lasting power is fantastic!!! I apply it at around 6.30 am over my toned (Lancome Tonique Douceur), moisturised (Elizabeth Arden Visible Difference), primed (Monistat Anti-Chaffing Gel lol) skin, with Urban Decay All Nighter Spray to fix and it lasts me till the sun goes down, and up again if it's a late one ;). Application is a breeze like I mentioned above, and I usually use a flat top brush (not for the coverage, but I find that it actually applies any foundation (powder/liquid) really nicely for a flawless effect. The flat top brushes I've used with this are Everyday Minerals Flat Top Brush, ELF Studio Powder Brush, Lucy Minerals Flat Top Brush, all are equal in application, and I love them all.

As, I am on a constant search for a good foundation, I had to try this and it was a winner hands down. It looks so natural and perfect. I'd usually put my foundation on in my Revlon Day Light Mirror, then I come out and it's totally different image in my mirror outside!!! From looking fake, or cakey, or oily (even though I've combination skin). With this no such thing, even when you're sweating on a hot day your face looks perfect and no rashes at the end of the day, no breakouts, ..just perfect. There are no shimmers (Bare Escentuals!!!!!!!!!!!!!), it looks in between matte and a very faint glow, which I really like and have been on the lookout for such a finish for long time. It also photographs really nicely too.

Overall, I would most definitely recommend you get a few samples of this foundation and try it out. The samples are a bit of a pain that they come in little baggies, but they sell little jars (that are great by the way) and you're sorted :).
