Too Faced Shadow Insurance in Candlelight Review

I was so impressed with the regular Too Faced Shadow Insurance, that I decided to give this a go because of the fantastic reviews for it.

This looks so beautiful on, and it actually saves time in the morning, since it's like you put on an eyeshadow on top of your primer. To me, it looks just like having Mac Ricepaper on my eyes.

Lasting power is just like the original Shadow Insurance, and for me is so much better than the UDPP

The colour of this illuminating primer is a soft gold with subtle sheen. I find that application of eyeshadow is smooth, and in no way interferes with the quality of the eyeshadow. I find that sometimes with other eye primers, the eyeshadow does not blend in as well or as smooth.

Essence Multi Dimension XXXL Shine Nail Polish in 71 Wanna Kiss? Review

This shade from Essence is a delicate pink, that can be built to opaque in just two coats

I love the colour and the finish, however the lasting power of nail polish isn't great at all, you could could two days out of it at most. The drying time between coats is really quick though, so even though it doesn't last long, at least it's fast drying when you want to re-do it. :)

Too Faced Aqua Bunny Cream to Powder Splash-Proof Bronzer Review

This is my first cream bronzer, and I love it so far!! In the pan it looks quite dark, but once it's blended it out, it looks very subtle and sheer with some glow and no shimmers. This is a true brown shade, and there is no orange hint to it all.

Most of my brushes that I tried applying this with were leaving hairs in the pan and on my face, the best one for me was the Coastal Scents Bionic Wide Buffer Brush. It left no hairs behind, and applied very evenly.

Once on, it looks just like I've been out in the sun. Amazing! :)

Too Faced French & Fabulous Majestic Make-Up Collection Palette Review

This gorgeous Too Faced palette is packed with six eyeshadows and two bronzers. The palette is designed well, and is thin enough to be taken with you on your travels etc.

The six eyeshadows are:
  • Totally Toasted Brown - shimmery metallic brown
  • Totally Toasted Beige - shimmery beige
  • Poodle Puff Raisin - dark brown with a purple hint and some glitters in it
  • Poodle Puff Pink - sheer pink with some glitter
  • Ooh & Aah Black -  sparkly black
  • Mess in A Dress - shimmery hot pink.
The two bronzers are:
  • Pink Leopard Bronzer - this looks gorgeous in the palette, with shimmery pink, brown and light brown mixed in to form the leopard design. As you can  see in the swatches below, this looks more like a highlighter than a bronzer.
  • Sun Bunny Bronzer - this duo bronzer comes with a darker and a lighter side of true brown. There is a subtle shimmer that looks more like a sheen when you put it on, and there are no orange hints throughout.

Overall, the colours in this palette are all very versatile, and could take you from a day time look to night. Very pretty! :)

Leighton Denny Nail Polish in All About Me Review

I picked up a set of four Leighton Denny Nail Polishes in TK Maxx for €26.99. The colour All About Me is a very pretty bright pink, and Leighton Denny describe is as a delicious, bright pink cream.

The picture is taken the next day, after applying two coats.

Mavala The Elle Grey Nail Polish Review (Free with Elle Magazine September Issue)

This Mavala nail polish came free with September's issue of Elle.  The colour is a gorgeous soft dove grey, but once it's on it takes so long to dry, and when I did think it was dry, it smudged

So, you really need to build it up in very thin layers. The picture is taken the next day after applying two coats, with OPI Start to Finish as a base and top coat.

Urban Decay 15 Year Anniversary Eyeshadow Collection Palette - Review

I picked this up on Thursday in Debenhams in Dublin, and it didn't really look like they were scarce! Apparently they were meant to come out later on in the year, but they decided to see how they sell or something like that the SA was saying.

I was looking at reviews online for this Anniversary palette, and to be honest, I haven't been exactly impressed with it... Online the colours looked a bit dull, and not very exciting at all. I was still curious to see what it was like, so when I went in to Debenhams, I was half expecting to put it back on the shelf and keep walking. Obviously, that didn't happen and here I am reviewing it. :)

The packaging is gorgeous looking and luxurious. The box containing the eyeshadows is made of purple velvet. When you open the box with eyeshadows, the top cover is a full mirror with a plastic cover protecting it. The tray of eyeshadows is removable, and is quite thin. So, when you actually get to use all eyeshadows, the box underneath the tray can be used as a jewelry box etc.

All the colours included in this palette are very usable, except for the bright pink maybe, and even that can be worked to look good. So, the fifteen colours that UD included in this Anniversary palette are:
  • Midnight Rodeo - medium metallic brown with silver and gold glitter, this one is the most likely one to have fall out of little glitters that are really messy to budge off your cheeks
  • Midnight 15 - oyster pearl with silver glitter
  • Vanilla - shimmery white gold
  • Flow - soft peach shimmer
  • Chase - metallic bright bronze
  • Tainted - pale matte purple with golden shimmer
  • Junkshow - bright pink with fuschia shift
  • Omen - shimmery metallic bright blue with blue shift, this looks more of a purple to me
  • Evidence - deep metallic blue
  • Deep End - bright teal shimmer
  • Deeper - deep shimmery golden brown
  • M.I.A. - soft shimmery dark brown
  • Ace - dark gunmetal shimmer
  • Blackout - darkest, most saturated black
  • Half Truth - shimmery smoky purple.
All fifteen eyeshadows are full size, and at 45euro for the lot is a pretty good deal. The quality of these are great, and they live up the Urban Decay standards by being buttery smooth, creamy, blendeable, and very pigmented.

When I was swatching these, it took me forever to wipe the colours off, and especially the darker ones! So this was a good indicator for me, that I have not come across an eyeshadow that would take so long to get off my hand.

Overall, I think this is an excellent buy, and I don't regret buying it even though I have enough eyeshadows to last a few lifetimes. It looks gorgeous, and I am pretty sure that I will get plenty of use out of it. :)
